The storyboards
As becomes apparent from looking at these selected storyboards
(click on images below, ~85Kb each), the sets will be kept simple
and uncluttered. Costumes, on the other hand, will be more stylised.
Miko’s obsession with her identical twin sister, a supermodel,
leaves her wearing odd supermodel-like costumes, whereas Kaida’s
costumes will be of a more exotic south-east Asian nature.
But everything will be awash in pale, white light. The colours
of the film then gradually build toward a blue tint, fractured
by intense reds and associated colours. This will underline
the cold, self-centred nature of our anti-heroine, Kaida, and
the more passionate nature of the true heroine, Miko.
Photography will be based on clean perspective shots and angles,
the foundation of this film’s calm pace. Exterior shots
will have a glaring, panoramic feel, in sharp contrast to the
more claustrophobic inside shots with our agoraphobic artist
and femme fatale in hiding... |
